As we settle into the new calendar year, schools and education centres continue to beÌýbusy andÌýwelcoming places for students, families and community members.ÌýSecondary school studentsÌýand staffÌýare preparing for exams and culminating tasks, and I wish everyone well in that important work, as students demonstrate their learning in multiple ways and educational staff support and assess their progress.Ìý

2026-2027ÌýSchool Year Calendar ConsultationÌý

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ students, staff, families and community members are invited to provide feedback on the proposed 2026-2027Ìýschool year calendar.ÌýSince the Labour Day holiday falls later in September, there are unique considerations for the 2026-2027 School Year Calendar.ÌýÌý

OptionÌý1Ìý

  • In Option 1, school starts on Tuesday, September 1 (before Labour Day,Ìýwhich isÌýMonday, September 7).Ìý

  • Option 1 includes Board holidays on November 13, November 16 andÌýonÌýMarch 12, leading into March Break.ÌýÌý

OptionÌý2Ìý

  • In Option 2, school starts on Tuesday, September 8 (after Labour Day,ÌýMonday, September 7).Ìý

  • Option 2 does not include Board holidays in November and does not include a Board holiday on the Friday before March Break.Ìý

In Both OptionsÌý

  • In both options, March Break is March 15 through 19.ÌýDecember Break is December 21 through January 1, with students returning to school January 4.ÌýAndÌýthe last day of school will be Tuesday, June 29.Ìý

Kindergarten RegistrationÌý

Kindergarten registration isÌýnowÌýOPENÌýfor the 2026-2027ÌýSchool Year!ÌýÌýIt’s timeÌýfor families with children who will be fourÌýthis calendar yearÌýto registerÌýfor the first year of Kindergarten.Ìý°­±Ê¸é’sÌýKindergarten classroomsÌýareÌýsafe, inclusiveÌýspaces,ÌýwithÌýplay-based learning environmentsÌýdesigned around each child’s unique needs and interests,Ìýled by caring educator teams.ÌýÌý
